Let America Vote, a voting rights organization started by former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander, is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to join its Washington, D.C. office.

Let America Vote is dedicated to winning the public debate over voter suppression in the United States. For several years, challenges to voter suppression efforts have taken place almost exclusively in courts of law. With the launch of Let America Vote, the fight expands to the court of public opinion. Over the past decade, momentum has gone dangerously in the wrong direction. Jason Kander started Let America Vote to fight back against proposals across the country that make it harder for eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right to cast a ballot. Whether it’s extreme identification requirements, questionable purges of voter rolls, voter intimidation, new and extreme voter registration processes, or anything that makes voting harder, Let America Vote will be there to lead the way against it.

The Senior Communications Advisor will develop and execute the overall communications strategy for Let America Vote as an organization, as well as candidate and issue-based campaigns relating to voting rights. This includes:

·      Creating a comprehensive communications, public relations and marketing plan to grow a startup organization

·      Overseeing all written content released externally and internally

·      Writing speeches, talking points and other communications

·      Growing relationships with communications professionals that work in voting rights and other supportive organizations

·      Supervising press staff and interns

We are looking for someone with at least seven years of experience and a proven interest in voting rights, and campaign experience is highly preferred. Please send your resume and cover letter to jo...@letamericavote.org with Senior Communications Advisor in the subject line.
