Policy Analyst

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Policy Analyst to assist in the analysis, development, and implementation of health payment and delivery reform policies that support peoples’ ability to access comprehensive reproductive health services. This position will play a critical role in analyzing legislation, regulation, and guidance, as well as  developing and executing advocacy efforts to secure policies that support access to women’s health services and women’s health providers, including Planned Parenthood.  


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Tracks and analyzes developments in health care payment and delivery system reform policy, including federal and state funding opportunities, regulations, guidance, and legislation. 

·         Consistently develops expertise around emerging and complex health care delivery issues, both those directly related to women’s health care and those rooted in changes to the larger system.

·         Identifies, develops and implements advocacy strategies to ensure women’s health and women’s health providers are included in health care payment and delivery system reforms.

·         Provides strategic and technical assistance to Planned Parenthood affiliates in their efforts to improve access to health care at the state level.

·         Prepares written comments to proposed policies and produces memos, fact sheets, and other written materials that synthesize complex policy issues into accessible formats for a variety of audiences. 

·         Works collaboratively with other PPFA departments and divisions.

·         Must be a team player that can contribute to multiple projects with competing deadlines

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree required; JD or Masters preferred.

·         At least two years of experience working in health care policy advocacy.

·         Background in health care delivery and payment reform

·         Experience working in women's health or reproductive health is a plus.

·         Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to both “get in the weeds” and see the larger picture.

·         Impeccable verbal , written and presentation communication skills

·         Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively

·         Passion for health care and PPFA’s mission

·         Knowledge of diverse groups, working within a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.
