Jay Gonzalez for Governor seeks Finance Assistant

 

The Jay Gonzalez campaign for Governor of Massachusetts is seeking to bring progressive values back to the Governor’s Office. Jay Gonzalez has spent his career working to improve the lives of people in Massachusetts. Through his work providing health insurance coverage for low-income residents, helping cities and towns build new schools and fire stations, and managing the state budget for Governor Deval Patrick during the Great Recession, Jay has always put people first. That’s why he’s running for Governor. The primary is September 4th and the general election is on November 6th.

 

We are searching for a Finance Assistant to support all elements of our fundraising operation, with a focus on candidate call time. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience working directly with a hard-working and talented team.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

• Development and implementation of call time program in coordination with Finance Manager
• Staffing and support to the candidate in achieving call time goals
• Prospecting potential donors and oversee donor research
• Pledge follow-up to donors, including timely emails, letters, and calls
• Oversight of daily call time entries into NGP, action items documented, distributed, and tracked to completion
• Staffing the candidate at events and meetings
• Managing interns and volunteers as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tight deadlines.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work irregular and sometimes long hours.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and driver’s license
• Previous campaign experience is preferred.

 

This position reports to the Finance Manager.  Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
