America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community. We lead collaborative efforts among a diverse coalition of over 400 state and national partner organizations to advance progressive policies, win elections, and protect every American’s right to vote. Position Description

America Votes is seeking highly motivated candidates to serve as Organizing Associates from February through June 2016. Organizing Associates will be working with other members of the team to implement innovative and tried-and-true campaign tactics.

 

Organizing Associates will focus on volunteer recruitment and mobilization, as well as voter outreach, and will be held accountable to quantitative and qualitative field metrics. The position will last for up to 5 months. Associates will be expected to commit a minimum of 10 hours a week to the program, including evenings and weekends.

St. Paul, MN

Responsibilities

4 Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers who will participate in phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and community events such as house parties and town hall meetings.

4 Engaging in direct voter contact through canvasses, phone banks and events.

4 Participating in the development and implementation of leadership and activist trainings.

4 Additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

4 Knowledge of and strong commitment to progressive causes, and an interest in pursuing similar career opportunities in the future.

4 Campaign experience conducting field activities.

4 Strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously.

4 Strong oral and written communication skills.

4 Must be willing to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to the program, including weekend and evening hours.

 

Compensation

This temporary position includes a stipend of $1,000 per month.
