SUMMARY

GQR’s digital practice is building a war room comprised of top-tier digital researchers and strategists focused on combating digital disinformation, protecting elections, and supporting progressive candidates across the country in 2020.  We are seeking to hire and build a team of Digital Research Associates to begin ASAP. In this position, the associate will work to identify bots and trolls, harmful narratives, and bad actors targeting voters on social media, and will support the design of strategic responses to toxic social media activity. If you are a digital native who cares about the 2020 election and is looking for a way to learn and use your analytical and investigative skills, please apply NOW!

The ideal candidates will be politically engaged, ideally in US and international politics and the relationship between technology and political outcomes, in the fields of social network research or other relevant quantitative, qualitative, or investigative research, and/or have strong experience in digital communication platforms.

Experience using social listening tools, across multiple platforms, is required. Experience working or volunteering on political campaigns is highly desired. Digital organizing experience is a plus. Direct experience with issues related to disinformation, extremism, or election interference is a huge plus, but candidates who can simply demonstrate a strong interest in these topics are also encouraged to apply.

Technical proficiency in common analytical tools, data visualization tools (Tableau) and graphic and web design and video-editing skills, foreign language skills, and/or demonstrated community impact work will be highly valued.

GQR is committed to building a diverse team and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will be considered for employment regardless of race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.

This position is project-based and will run through the November 2020 election based in Washington D.C.  Project-based employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as accrued vacation, sick, and personal time starting on your first day.
