Communications Assistant for Mid-Atlantic Congressional

[Maryland Four]

Congressional campaign seeking full-time press staff on congressional campaign in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities:
-- Work with Campaign Leadership to develop and implement the campaign’s messaging strategy and communications plan
-- Work with the rest of the campaign team to develop and execute earned media goals
-- Write press releases, statements, columns and remarks for the candidate and surrogates
-- Pitch stories and research to state and national media
-- Build and manage targeted press lists
-- Travel to media events as needed
-- Manage the Campaign’s social media accounts and website
-- Work closely with the Campaign Manager and Field Director team to align messaging and strategy

Qualifications/Skills:
-- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including on-the-record experience
-- Experience in campaign communications and/or previous experience in a communications position
-- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the representation of the Candidate's positions on issues
-- Availability to work long hours
-- Ability to work well under pressure
