Progressive Campaign Seeking PAID Field Fellows ASAP - Detroit, MI

Description of the Candidate:

Andy Levin is the Democratic Nominee for Michigan's 9th Congressional District, which encompasses large portions of Oakland and Macomb Counties in Metro Detroit. Andy is a former union organizer who helped create No Worker Left Behind, the largest job-retraining program in the country which helped 162,000 Michiganders during the great recession. More recently, Andy founded Lean & Green Michigan, a clean energy business that creates good jobs while reducing carbon emissions, and improving public health, air and water quality.

 

Andy has been at the forefront of progressive causes for decades, and if elected he will fight for Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, quality K-12 public education, equal pay for equal work and paid family leave, common-sense gun reform, and the protection of the human rights of all people regardless of sexual orientation, race, gender, and religion.

 

Description of Fellowship:

Field Fellows will focus primarily on voter contact and volunteer management. Fellows will have the opportunity to experience multiple phrases of a campaign, including persuasion and GOTV. Fellows will also organize, staff, and participate in volunteer canvasses, phone banks, meet and greets, debates and forums, and more. Finally, they will gain experience using with important campaign management software, such as VoteBuilder. This is a paid position with the expectation that the Fellow will dedicate 20-25 hours per week for throughout the duration of the 6 week program.

 

Qualifications:

· Hard-working individuals who are willing to dedicate at least 20 hours per week to the campaign

· An interest in exploring a career in American politics

· A desire to improve the lives of current and future generations

· Prior experience volunteering or interning for a campaign is preferred, but not required
