The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) is seeking a Program Assistant for our Washington, DC Office
The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) is a partnership of public health professionals dedicated to promoting sexual health through the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). NCSD is uniquely positioned to support state, local and state health departments through national leadership, policy advocacy, and technical assistance on state policy and program implementation for state, all through a lens of health equity and promotion.
The Program Assistant is a new position that will report to the Director of Programs and Partnerships. This position will be responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support to the expanding portfolio of the Program Division at NCSD, which focuses on national leadership and technical assistance to build the capacity of state, local and territory health departments and education agencies to implement effective STD prevention programs, particularly for populations at increased risk for STD infections.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct background research on potential funders, summarize findings, and report to the Director of Programs and Partnerships and Executive Director.
- Maintain schedule and coordination of input from all staff on federal and foundation grant applications, progress reports, and invoices related to NCSD’s Program Team work.
- Collaborate with the State Policy and Communications Manager to plan and provide programmatic content for NCSD’s social media and website platforms.
- Manage aspects of the Director of Programs and Partnership’s calendar - schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
- Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of select meetings, including the Program Advisory Committee meetings.
- Work as part of the Program team in executing overall NCSD priorities in capacity building, technical assistance, and health equity promotion.
- Work with the entire NCSD staff to produce a high-quality program for NCSD’s Annual Meetings.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and flexibility in providing office support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in a sexual and reproductive health setting.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
- Ability to demonstrate creative thinking in a professional environment.
- Ability and willingness to represent NCSD with professionalism among members, industry partners, and other community groups.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability and willingness to work some additional hours and participate in minimal travel when necessary.

Physical requirements are concordant with a standard office setting, thus applicants should be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the work day.
