Paid Design/Videographer Intern on U.S. Senate Race

The Ben-David 2020 is searching for a talented and hungry Design/Videographer position remote or in-person. Our campaign provides up-and-coming digital designers and videographers with the opportunity to get significant campaign experience while learning from professionals and making an impact for the public good.

Responsibilities:

• Work with campaign team to conceptualize thoughtful, original design ideas that incorporate the candidate’s message and improve digital experiences
• Design and style pages, elements, prototypes, layouts, and interfaces consistent with the campaign’s brand
• Create and implement graphic designs for social media and other public-facing outlets
• Deliver design assets in an organized manner consistent with our current digital presence
• Assist campaign staff as needed

Required skills and experience:

• Design skills:
  • Proven work experience in graphic and/or web design in a professional environment
  • Proficiency in visual design and in tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva
  • Ability to incorporate diverse feedback into the design cycle and explain the purpose behind design decisions
  • Knowledgeable of best practices and trends in design, particularly for social media and email
  • Former campaign experience preferred but not required
• Video skills:
  • Knowledge of media asset management platforms and solutions
  • Project management skills — excellent organization, communication, flexibility and attention to detail
  • Editing skills with an eye for type and design fundamentals
  • A sensibility for compelling pacing, music, graphics, type, and storytelling
  • Professional demeanor; ability to work well with people at all levels and ability to navigate relationships with other staffers
  • Project and time management capabilities within a fast-paced, high productivity environment

Professional Skills:

• Self-directed with effective time management skills and proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time 

• Strong attention to detail, from design to technical implementation
• Ability to be effective in an organization whose team members all work remotely.

Salary: Full time at $300/week
