The Sierra Club is seeking an
Associate Regional Press Secretary to help lead media outreach in the
South East (including North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina
and Florida) for its groundbreaking Beyond Coal Campaign. The Beyond
Coal campaign is the most effective and best-resourced environmental
campaign in the U.S., and we're looking for a savvy, independent public
relations professional who will act as the lead press strategist for the
region who will create bold new communications campaigns to help
America move Beyond Coal.
Our new Associate Regional Press Secretary will be:
-Committed
to developing inclusive communication strategies that engage diverse
audiences within the growing pro-clean energy movement, including youth
and communities of color.
-Dedicated to using their skills to
write and pitch stories, develop relationships with reporters, craft
messages, and apply advertising and online tactics to advance our goals
of expanding clean energy, protecting public health, and reducing
climate disruption.
-Stimulated by the challenge of creating,
planning, and executing creative paid and earned media campaigns with
diverse allies and partner organizations across campaigns in multiple
states.
- A fearless and self-starter willing to challenge
conventional wisdom and build consensus within a team of policy, legal
and organizing talent.
The Associate Regional Press Secretary
position is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates should have 3+ years
of media and communications experience, preferably from a political,
nonprofit, or advocacy background.
