Jackie Gordon NY02 The Jackie Gordon Campaign is a targeted red to blue race on Long Island, vying for an open seat. After winning the primary with over 70% of the vote, our Field Team is committed to using classic campaign methods and innovative grassroots organizing to flip this seat. 

Field Organizer Responsibilities 

Field Organizers are responsible for the day-to-day recruitment, instruction, and management of volunteers and interns. Applicants for the position should be skilled communicators, fast-learners, and independent workers with a passion for problem solving. 

The Jackie Gordon Field Team values empowering and training Volunteer Leaders as well as grassroots organizing. Organizers will get the opportunity to not just contact voters, but own a grassroots program in their turf that combines classic campaign methods with innovative approaches to organizing. 

Field Organizers will... 

• Recruit volunteers via dials, text, email, and other methods 

• Recruit and train Volunteer Leaders in their turf 

• Participate in direct voter contact efforts 

• Manage a team of interns to help achieve their organizing goals 

• Receive professional development and skills training Desired Skills and Experience Skills 

• Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 

• Strong communication and organizational skills 

• An understanding and appreciation of the urgent nature and time demands of campaigns 

• Computer proficiency 

• Campaign experience and proficiency with VAN is a plus 

Miscellaneous 

• Willingness to relocate to Long Island, and to work long hours and weekends 

• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation. 

• Working laptop
