America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community. Position Description

America Votes is seeking highly motivated candidates to serve as the Organizing Team Lead from February through June 2016. The Organizing Team Lead will coordinate a team of organizers to implement innovative and tried-and-true campaign tactics, and work with progressive allies to accomplish campaign goals.

 

The Organizing Team Lead will coordinate up to 10 Organizing Associates to implement volunteer recruitment and mobilization, as well as voter outreach. The Organizing Team Lead will work with progressive allies, provide training, prepare for and implement voter contact activities, and be responsible for reporting. The position will last for up to 5 months. This position is expected to commit 20 hours a week to the program, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

4 Managing weekly responsibilities for Organizing Associates including scheduling, training, preparing lists, reporting, and payroll.

4 Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers who will participate in phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and community events such as house parties and town hall meetings.

4 Engaging in direct voter contact through canvasses, phone banks and events.

4 Participating in the development and implementation of leadership and activist trainings.

 

Qualifications

4 Knowledge of and strong commitment to progressive causes, and an interest in pursuing similar career opportunities in the future.

4 Campaign experience conducting field activities.

4 Experience using VAN.

4 Strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously.

4 Strong oral and written communication skills.

4 Must be willing to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week to the program, including weekend and evening hours.

 

Compensation

This temporary position includes a stipend of $2,400 per month.
