Job Title: Phonebanker
Location: in Michigan, but working remotely
Compensation: $15 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position: Part-time (up to 25 hrs/week), temporary, remote
Dates of Employment: ASAP-November 6, 2020 (with possibility for extension)
The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) and Care in Action are nonprofit organizations dedicated to fighting for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are immigrants and women of color.
We are hiring motivated individuals for a paid phonebanking program for the 2020 cycle.
Phonebankers will be responsible for talking with voters ahead of the upcoming election about how to register to vote, how to check/update their voter registration, how to apply for an absentee ballot, and how to vote either by mail or in-person. We are looking to fill positions immediately!
This is a temporary position. Phonebankers will work under the immediate supervision of a State Director and a phonebanking lead in a specific state in which we are running programs. Applicants with previous canvassing or phonebanking experience are especially encouraged to apply, but no previous experience is required!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make phone calls for 4-5 hours a day / 4-5 days a week for a total of up to 25 hours/week
- Phonebanking will take place both during the week and over weekends. Phonebankers will coordinate with their supervisor which shifts they will work in order to coordinate with other phonebankers and to fit within their own schedule.
- Talk to voters about making a plan to vote
- Commit to having daily debriefs
- Track and enter data from phone calls (must have access to a smartphone and/or a computer)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Have access to a smartphone and/or a computer with a stable internet access for job duration
- Work well independently towards a team goal
- Strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality
- Be goal-oriented, punctual, organized and have a positive attitude
- Believe in the mission and vision of NDWA and Care in Action
- Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus, but not required
