Field Organizer Positions for Competitive Northern Virginia Congressional Race 2020

Description: Northern Virginia based Campaign is seeking District Organizers starting July 1st, 2020 - Nov 3, 2020. Organizers will be responsible for building and activating volunteer capacity within their assigned turf in the congressional district to assist with voter mobilization. Organizers will be the local face for the campaign. Organizers will report directly to the Field Director.

Responsibilities: 

• Identify, train, and recruit volunteers to assist with voter contact this summer and fall. 

• Organize communities to build and activate volunteer capacity in order to get out the vote. 

• Help the campaign identify supporting voters through possible canvass efforts (COVID-19 depending,) texting programs, phone banking, and events. 

• Coordinate and work alongside local county/city leadership, democratic committees, and activist groups.

• Learn about the ladder of engagement, DNC Votebuilder, and other organizing

tactics/tools to cultivate and develop volunteer leadership in assigned turf.

Skills and Qualifications: 

● Passion for working for and electing Democratic candidates 

● Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a team

● Ability to work long, irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment 

● Ability to work independently and in team settings 

● A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an ability to relocate when it is safe to do so.
