Environment Virginia State Director: Richmond, VA
Win concrete environmental protections for the places Virginians love, while simultaneously growing Environment Virginia’s support base. As the State Director, you will identify strategic opportunities to build relationships with decision-makers; work with a wide array of coalition partners; raise money from large and small donors, and increase our visibility and reputation in the media and online.
About the job
Environment Virginia seeks an experienced organization-builder to coordinate advocacy, field organizing, fundraising, and media communications for our group. Environment Virginia is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization. We stand up to polluting industries, fight for a green future, and do what it takes to win. The Director will drive our work to keep the Outer Banks free from oil drilling and will keep his/her finger on the pulse of state and local decision-making to push for more protections and stop any and all attacks on our state’s environment.
The Director will play a critical role in developing and executing strategies on the ground to build long-term political power for our organization in the state. S/he will work with our national program staff and organizing staff on the ground to maximize the impact of our work.
