House Majority PAC is an independent expenditure only committee (often called a “Super PAC”) that is designed to help elect Democrats running for the House of Representatives and hold Republicans accountable. House Majority PAC is committed to building a long-term organization that can take on the Republican outside groups in the battle for the House Majority.
Research Desks will be responsible for maintaining self and opposition research, identifying key candidate vulnerabilities and fact-checking polling and paid media in a set of congressional races around the country. Research Desks report to the Research Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Track assigned races on a daily basis including press clips and social media
Work with political desk and consulting teams to identify data points for polls, mailpieces, online communications, and radio and television scripts and ads
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:
Demonstrated commitment to promoting Democratic values and causes
BA/BS degree
• M i n i m u m 2 y e a r s e x p e ri e n c e i n t h e p o l i t ic a l f i e ld
• Experience working on opposition research for a campaign, committee, or Democratic- allied organization
Proficiency in Lexis-Nexis required, other research databases a bonus
Priority given to candidates with experience fact-checking paid media
Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities; ability to work independently and proactively
Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change; experience managing to multiple deadlines
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Solid verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills
Sense of humor, ability to have fun, and an interest in working within a high-performing team environment
