Data Director
The State Data Director (SDD) is responsible for the daily management of the Votebuilder database. SDD provide technical support, training to staff and volunteers in Georgia. Candidates will need to deliver presentations to staff, volunteers and communicate data related priorities to field, political, and campaign leadership.
The SDD reports to the State Director and will be responsible for managing any staff, vendor or volunteer resources for data infrastructure within the state.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Target and universe building
Administer GA 2016 Victory Committee
Train users of all levels on Votebuilder and data best practices
Collaborate with State Sr. Staff, National Data Staff to develop and implement data collection practices
Collaborate with other departments to define and track field metrics for analysis
Construct clear and concise reports
Manipulate large data sets
Interact with GA State Field team and DPG staff and create ongoing trainings
Required Skills:
Must be experienced administering VAN
At least 2 cycles of campaign experience, one election cycle of data experience
working knowledge of the structure of political campaigns and familiarity with campaign technology
Proven creativity and problem-solving skills
A good sense of humor and a strong commitment to Democratic politics
Expertise with statistical models, precinct targeting
Advanced knowledge of Excel including formulas, functions, and pivot tables
Advanced knowledge of Access (or other SQL database) including creating queries and manipulating large data sets
Familiarity with GIS preferred
Experience standardizing data from multiple sources to produce complex reports
Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical individuals
Experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
Capacity and desire to work long hours in a campaign setting
