Job Opening for Paid Petitioners - Doug Schneider for City Council (Candidate for CD39

A progressive City Council Campaign is seeking petitioners to collect signatures in a competitive Democratic primary. This is an entry level campaign position and requires no prior experience, but experience in grassroots organizing is preferred. The right candidate will be trained on all aspects relating to petitioning. Petitioners will be expected to collect a large amount in-person, in-district signatures in a timely manner, while keeping the Field Director and Campaign Manager informed at all times. This position is a great opportunity to gain more political knowledge of NYC and City Council. 

Requirements:

- A registered Democrat in New York State

- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment.

- The ability to comprehend and articulate key issues related to the campaign

- Regular communication of progress and submission of daily reports

- The ability to work in a team-oriented environment in order to accomplish campaign goals

- Access to a smartphone

- Candidates must abide by CDC guidelines relating to COVID-19. Must be willing to get tested regularly and receive a negative test prior to starting program or continuing program

Compensation: $16/hour. Must be able to attend training session prior to the start of petitioning in March.
