Long Island Congressional Finance Director
Seeking a finance director for a Long Island
based Congressional campaign who will work closely with the candidate and
campaign manager to meet the financial goals of the campaign. The finance
director will need to achieve a strategic balance between traditional “call
time” and lining up larger donors, along with grassroots/small donor
fundraising.
Duties:
- Manage and execute
strategic finance plan which includes events, principal call time, low
dollar online solicitations and weekly, monthly and quarterly goals
- Identify and research new
donor prospects and opportunities
- Manage principal call time
and other activities to hit fundraising targets and deadlines
- Execute and manage donor
research and expand new donor networks
- Assist in writing
fundraising emails, mailers, and handouts
- Manage, hire and train
staff, interns, and volunteers
- Ensure there is follow up
on all correspondence and pledges
- Work closely with
compliance consultants and treasurer
Qualifications:
- 1+ cycle of campaign
finance experience – statewide or congressional campaign experience a plus
- Proven commitment to elect
Democrats or working on progressive issues
- Experience managing staff
preferred
- Knowledge of NGP and Excel
- Must have strong written
and communication skills
- Working knowledge of
campaign and ethics finance law
- Experience with donor
research and prospecting
- Experience with targeting
contributors and follow up management
- Excellent attention to
detail and highly organized
- Time management skills
- Flexibility to work
evenings and weekends
- Ties to NY is a plus
Salary will be commensurate
with experience.
