The Sierra Club is seeking an Associate Press Secretary to lead communications on its groundbreaking Beyond Coal Campaign in the Upper Midwest. Beyond Coal is one of the most effective and best-resourced environmental and public health campaigns in the U.S., and we're looking for a savvy, independent public relations professional, who will act as lead strategist and implementer for bold new communications campaigns that will help move the Midwest from coal to clean energy.

Our new Associate Press Secretary will be:

- Stimulated by the challenge of creating, planning, and executing creative paid and earned media campaigns with diverse allies and partner organizations across multiple regions.
- A self-starter who shows strong initiative, and is willing to challenge conventional wisdom and build consensus within a team of policy, legal and community organizing talent.
- A talented storyteller with strong instincts for political dynamics and strategy.
- Committed to developing inclusive communication strategies that engage diverse audiences within the growing pro-clean energy movement, including youth, allies in the labor movement and communities of color.
- Dedicated to using their skills to write and pitch stories, develop relationships with reporters, craft messages, and apply advertising tactics to advance our goals of expanding clean energy, protecting public health, and combating climate change.
The Associate Press Secretary position is based out of Chicago. Candidates should have 3+ years of media and communications experience, preferably from a political, nonprofit, or advocacy background. For the  full job description and to apply: http://bit.ly/1P988ZA
