BrownMiller Group is hiring Organizing Fellows to assist in and learn how to build and manage field programs for clients with a variety of projects including electoral, issue, and grass roots marketing campaigns.
A successful candidate will be a dynamic individual demonstrating a range of professional skills. S/he will be passionate about learning how to build people-powered campaigns and develop grassroots activists.
Responsibilities Will Include:
· Voter contact including door-to-door and phone canvass
· Data system maintenance
· Drafting neighborhood-level field plans
· Building relationships with grass tops leaders and activists
· Recruiting, training and managing volunteers
· Tracking progress to goal and real-time reporting
· Tracking and reporting progress to goal in real time
· Self-assessing progress-to-goal and next steps
Required Skills and Qualities
· The ability to develop volunteers and create a team environment
· Use of personnel contact relationship manager programs
· Mastery of basic office programs including the Microsoft office suite, excel in particular, and file share programs
· Votebuilder experience a plus
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent time management and task organizing skills
· The ability to solve problems
· The ability to self-assess
· The ability to lead and to develop team members
· Self-motivation and the commitment to see a task through regardless
Job Requirements
· The ability to travel independently
· Valid drivers’ license, insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
· The ability to work 20+ hours per week
