Maryland Gubernatorial Campaign Seeking Deputy Finance Director

Deputy Finance Director

A leading Democratic gubernatorial campaign is seeking a Deputy Finance Director to start immediately. This position will work closely with the candidate and the lieutenant governor candidate, along with the finance director and finance committee to plan events, manage call time, and prospect new donors to successfully execute the finance plan. Strong applicants will have at least one cycle of relevant experience in a political fundraising capacity.

Responsibilities:

●      The deputy finance director will work with the candidate(s), finance director, finance staff & interns to successfully execute the finance plan

●      Management of lieutenant governor candidate - craft, manage and execute strategic finance plan including fundraising goals and strategy with focus on call time and events

●      Direct call time, including building & maintaining a strong system and effectively managing and messaging the candidate

●      Tasked with independently managing fundraising events; organize hosts, set goals, and follow through on pledges

●      Develop a research plan to build out the donor base, and tracking and following up with pledges

●      Staff the candidate during events and meetings.

●      Train finance interns and volunteers

●      Draft email and mail solicitations, manage follow up on all correspondence

Qualifications/Experience:

●      Bachelor’s degree in political science, Finance, or related field

●      must have at least one cycle as a finance assistant or in a similar role

●      Experience in all aspects of campaign finance operations including call time, events, mail, online, phone, finance committee, and compliance

●      Prior experience with targeting contributors and follow up management

●      Strong knowledge of NGP, ActBlue and Excel, Google Docs, & Google Forms

●      Working understanding of campaign finance law

●      Attention to detail and highly organized, and superb interpersonal skills

●      willingness to work campaign hours and to go above and beyond to deliver tangible results

●      Ability to relocate immediately to Maryland/Washington, DC

●      Frequent travel to Baltimore and around the Washington region required

●      Interested parties must have access to a vehicle and laptop
