North Carolina State Director
End Citizens United’s Mission: To end Big Money in politics and fix our rigged political system by electing campaign finance reform champions, passing state ballot measures, and elevating this issue in the national conversation. We will work in partnership with these champions to overturn Citizens United and end the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics.
Job Summary: The North Carolina State Director is responsible for liaising with North Carolina candidate campaigns and partner organizations, assessing new endorsement and partnership opportunities, and working with the rest of staff to ensure that the organization is setting and supporting priorities to the best of its capacity.

Reports to: Director of State & Local Campaigns
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinating endorsement process for non-federal campaigns, and working with ECU Political Department on relevant federal campaigns
• Representing ECU in conversations with state and local partner organizations
• Working with supervisor to refine and apply messaging to help in-state reform champions
• Standing up a volunteer program where ECU members can engage with endorsed campaign and advocacy efforts
Qualifications
State Directors must perform well both independently and in a team setting. They must have a strong interest in reforming our broken democracy and be committed to the diversity of our candidates, membership, partners, and staff. They are expected to have at least one full cycle of management experience at a political campaign or advocacy organization. Since they will be the senior staffer in-state while reporting back to headquarters, they must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, an instinct for anticipating and creatively solving problems, and the initiative to propose solutions and fill voids.
