(Bay Area, CA) Paid Field Canvassing positions available for the CA Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative's IVE program

My name is Mike Lok from Asian Health Services in Oakland. I’m emailing on behalf of one of my projects with the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative (Collaborative: www.cahealthynailsalons.org) which was founded by Asian Health Services to make the nail salon industry safer and healthier workers and cosumers. We are funded by Groundswell Fund, the nation’s largest reproductive justice foundation, to do an Integrated Voter Engagement program to do non-partisan outreach to registered voters to remind low-propensity voters about the elections and identify supporters of our health and safety movement.
We will be doing some targeted phone banking and door knocking in various communities in the Bay Area where we’re trying to build up our visibility and power in and I am looking to hire some temporary field canvassers to help us with that, starting with engagement for the Primary Election.
- · We intend to door knock in parts of San Jose, Oakland, San Leandro, Berkeley.
- Phone banking would happen out of an AHS site
here in Oakland Chinatown and focus on several different geographic locations.
- · While a lot of our work has focused on the
Vietnamese community, you don’t need to identify as Vietnamese or Asian to be
in this program. Bi-lingual ability in certain Asian languages would be
nice but is not required.
If you’d like to help but are unable to commit the level of time, we’d still be able to take people on in a volunteer capacity. The paid positions would have higher levels of responsibility and commitment in addition to hours.
I’m looking to assemble a team right away, and if folks aren’t able to participate in round 1 they should keep us in mind because we should certainly use their help for a further engagement rounds.
