The North Hempstead Democratic Committee is hiring top-quality and creative Field Organizers for its targeted races. The Committee will play a key role in helping to re-elect Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman, Council Members Peter Zuckerman and Veronica Lurvey, and electing Mariann Dalimonte.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, detailed oriented and a self-starter with proven ability to achieve set goals and perform under pressure.

This position reports to the campaign manager.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:


Building and managing volunteer canvasses and phone banks Reaching volunteer recruitment goals


Planning and managing surrogate events


Reaching supporter identification goals Persuading voters to support our candidates Getting out the vote in your assigned area


Training volunteers one on one and in larger groups


Conducting outreach to constituency groups, democratic groups and other organizations. Staffing a candidate or candidates at campaign events.


Additional duties as required, such as fundraising call time with candidates and social media management

 

Required Skills:


Experience working or volunteering on political campaigns (preferred but not required). Enthusiasm for Democratic politics.


Great time management and organizational skills. Ability to lead and instruct a team of volunteers


Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with campaign leadership and volunteers. Strategic thinker with the ability to meet goals and work under hard deadlines.


Enjoys working with people in the general public.


Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred but not required.
