The Texas Democratic Party is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to fill the position of Finance Director. This is a full time position based in Austin, TX with remote work for the time being. The Finance Director will report to the Executive Director and work closely with other department directors and the Texas Democratic Party officers. The Finance Director is responsible for developing and executing the Party’s strategic fundraising plans, with continual progress towards larger organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee finance plan creation & implementation for Texas Democratic Party
  • Create and implement fundraising programs for varying donor constituencies
  • Cultivating major donor relationships
  • Oversee direct mail fundraising & cultivation programs
  • Lead fundraising event planning teams
  • Oversee Convention 2022 and annual dinner
  • Partner with Operations Director in budget creation & maintenance
  • Maintain strong relationships with Democratic elected officials, labor partners, and corporate lobby
  • Write and submit grant applications
  • Manage the fundraising team and finance interns
  • Work closely with the Chair, Finance Chair, and Executive Director of the Party to implement fundraising strategies

Preferred experience:
Applicants should have 4 or more years of fundraising experience, and a demonstrated history in political fundraising. Creative self-starters, who can juggle a variety of tasks and personalities and have a strong familiarity with NGP, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive.

Salary:
Starting salary is $75,000+ and open to negotiation.

Employee Classification:
This is a Texas based full-time position and will include some nights and weekends.

Reports to: Executive Director

Start Date: Immediately
