Position: Field Director
Overview: Challenger’s campaign for the 2020 State House Primary Election in Chicago is
seeking a Field Director to begin January 2020. The full-time position is based on the
northwest side of Chicago. The position ends March 21, 2020.
Responsibilities:
● Lead voter outreach efforts.
● Recruit, train, and empower volunteers on a daily basis
● Help set and implement daily, weekly, and monthly voter contact goals
● Plan and coordinate volunteer events including weekend canvasses and phone
banks
● Amplify message and momentum through social media platforms and storytelling
● Oversee data collection to ensure data is entered in an accurate and timely
manner.
● Build and expand relationships with neighborhood groups to ensure our
campaign stays true to the grassroots
● Represent campaign and staff candidate at events as necessary.
● Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
● 1-2 cycles of political experience in field preferred; at least some experience
working in a political, non-profit, or community organizing. setting with diverse
communities required.
● Familiarity with VAN voter contact software strongly preferred.
● Self-starter who takes a proactive approach to their job.
● Good time management skills.
● Access to a cell phone and laptop is required. Access to a vehicle is preferred.
● Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work
environment.
