Position Title: Plant and Community Organizer
Location: Cleveland and/or communities surrounding Davis-Besse and Perry Nuclear Plants
Classification: Exempt
Compensation: Base $35,000 - $42,000 salary/yr
Benefits: Eligible for health and retirement benefits after 3 months

Overall Position SummaryThe Plant and Community Organizer (PCO) is responsible for establishing relationships within a nuclear plant staff community. The PCO will be expected to engage the staff one-on-one in informal and formal settings, as well as in group settings and through various plant affiliations, societies, and organizations. Through engagement, the PCO will cultivate a culture of activism and volunteerism and translate that - primarily through the Atomic Action app - into direct constituent advocacy. The PCO will report directly to the Organizing Director.
Specific Responsibilities & Authority- Identify and coordinate with existing plant leaders, including but not limited to ANS, NAYGN, organized labor, and other plant social groups
- Establish communication and leadership structures
- Tap into existing plant structures to secure volunteers
- Provide excellent front-end training and ongoing development of volunteers
- Cut turf, coordinate resources, maintain superb volunteer follow up, and provide excellent real-time leadership for student canvasses
- Provide clear and consistent data weekly to analyze effectiveness of action tactics and evaluate project progress
- Maintain appropriate social media presence to support community outreach efforts
General Responsibilities- Become proficient in pro-nuclear talking points and organizational messaging
- Deliver training curriculum to volunteers; provide feedback on the volunteer training curriculum.
- Participate in and oversee on-ground organizational field activities
- Other duties as assigned by the Organizing Director
Qualifications- Flexible, motivated, self-starting; able to work with limited supervision
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize requests to meet deadlines
- Strong moral character and sound judgement; must be able to work scrupulously with volunteers
- Polished interpersonal and oral communications skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with database and CRM software; proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
- Some experience in social media platforms and curating web content
- High school diploma required, bachelor degree or prior election/movement building experience strongly preferred
Work Schedule40 hours per week; schedule will be varied as the work dictates
