The Washington State Democrats’ Coordinated Campaign strives to lead an innovative, data-driven voter mobilization program through the implementation of a statewide, direct voter contact effort which seeks to augment traditional get-out-the-vote programming with creative, community-specific organizing tactics, a comprehensive digital outreach regime, and a thoughtful power building approach rooted in a philosophy of enduring strength through long-term grassroots capacity development. The Coordinated Campaign will focus on the election of the Democratic nominee for President, as well as the re-election of US Senator Patty Murray and Governor Jay Inslee, but will help guide candidate campaign activity up and down the ballot.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

Field Organizers are the heart of our Washington State Democrats’ Coordinated Campaign. They are the face of the campaign, interacting with local leaders and Democratic supporters to mobilize volunteers for voter registration, Get-Out-The-Vote efforts and ensuring that Democratic candidates up and down the ticket are successful in November.

Field Organizers will be responsible for the following:

  • Recruiting, training and managing robust Neighborhood Teams of volunteers
  • Executing a vibrant Get-Out-The-Vote effort, including door-to-door canvassing and phone banks

Qualified candidates should have some combination of the following:

  • Prior community organizing experience (paid, volunteer or internship)
  • Experience and familiarity with VAN/Votebuilder is highly desired
  • Comfortable working in a metrics and deadline driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a healthy sense of humor
  • A positive attitude, appreciation for creativity in the workplace and the ability to problem solve
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to work evening and weekend hours
