Description:

Chris Hurst’s campaign for Delegate in Virginia is seeking a Student Vote Director for the 2019 cycle. This is a paid position.

 

The Student Vote Director works with the Field Director to organize our volunteer and grassroots student outreach operation for the campaign, manages teams of Campus Organizers and fellows on Virginia Tech and Radford University’s campuses, and works to increase youth turnout in this year’s election.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Build and maintain relationships with campus leaders and progressive organizations on campus

·     Use phone calls and digital tactics for voter registration, support identification, volunteer recruitment, and management

• Hire, train, and manage campus organizers and fellows 
• Maintain a meticulous system for collecting, submitting, and logging voter registration materials

 

Requirements:

·     Sense of humor

·     Ability to think creatively 

·     Ability to work independently 

·     Ability to meet deadlines and be held accountable to goals

·     An interest in and commitment to electing Democrats to public office

·     Willing and able to work long hours, including weekends

·     Reliable transportation and access to a laptop

Pay/Timeline: 

·     Pay is commensurate with experience.

·     An ideal start date would be July 15, but the Student Vote Director must be available to start no later than the last week of July.
