Job Title: Field Organizer

Campaign: David Shapiro for Congress

Location: Sarasota, Florida

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

A DCCC Red to Blue race is seeking Field Organizers in the Sarasota-Manatee Area for the upcoming 2018 election. Field Organizers are responsible for helping to execute the campaign’s organizing plan in communities across the 16th Congressional District. This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates that are looking to get involved in the political process. Field Organizers will report to the Field Director.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • - Recruit, train, and manage volunteer leaders in your assigned region or community to help build a large grassroots campaign

  • - Participate in voter contact work in your assigned region including door to door canvassing and phone calls

  • - Maintain databases and do data entry when necessary.

  • - Prepare canvass and call materials for volunteer activities

  • - Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in your

  • assigned region

  • - Other duties as assigned and directed by campaign leadership.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.

  • Basic computer literacy and database skills.

  • Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

  • Prior campaign experience or community organizing experience preferred but not necessary.

  • Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN preferred but not necessary.
