Finance Assistant, MJ for Texas

REPORTS TO: TX Finance Director  

LOCATION: Austin, TX

Join MJ for Texas as a Finance Assistant to take part in the 2020 election cycle in a key US Senate race. This is a great opportunity to work for a DSCC-endorsed candidate and expand your fundraising skills. MJ for Texas is looking for individuals interested in helping elect a combat veteran and working mom to the Senate.

This position will be based at the campaign’s headquarters in Austin, TX. The position reports to the Texas Finance Director. Salary is commensurate with experience and full medical benefits are provided.

Responsibilities:

• Prospect potential new donors for major donor fundraising program
• Assist in managing candidate call time
• Help facilitate fundraising events, including advancing and staffing the candidate
• Draft invites, letters, and solicitation appeals
• Manage correspondence including contribution acknowledgements, follow-up requests, mailings
• Other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications: 

• Campaign experience preferred but not necessary 
• Ability to work effectively within a flexible, adapting, and fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge and experience with NGP preferred
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets required
• Strong written and communication skills 
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
• Reliable transportation needed
