About Civic TN

Civic TN is a nonprofit state-based collaboration “table” formed in 2017 to organize nonprofit organizations to work collectively in strengthening the civic participation of the communities they serve and represent in Tennessee through greater voter turnout. We envision a Tennessee where often underrepresented communities of color, single women, and young people have a greater voice and influence in shaping the policy and leadership that impacts their lives.

Coalition Management:

  • Provide strategic programmatic guidance and support to the Table’s partners, including the development of shared plans, budgets, metrics, organizing strategies, and evaluations
  • Expand the coalition by identifying and engaging with new allies and potential partners across the state that work with historically underrepresented people and communities
  • Build long-term capacity with partners through leadership development, increasing communications skills, training opportunities, and data-driven programming
  • Represent Civic TN in local, state, and national coalitions
  • Actively participate in the State Voices’ network, learning from and engaging with other state civic engagement tables to bring new ideas to Tennessee and work to establish Civic TN as an affiliate state of State Voices
