Job Description - Finance Staffer, Kansas Congressional Campaign
A Democratic candidate for Congress in Kansas is looking for a finance staffer who is willing to learn and work hard on a competitive Congressional campaign. We want someone who can serve as a key member of our finance team under the direction of a finance consultant. We are running against a Republican incumbent who voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
*Responsibilities*
- Staff and manage a call time operation that will include at-least forty hours of candidate call time per week.
- Staff the candidate at meetings with high-dollar donors and prepare briefings
- Work hand in hand with an experienced finance consultant to help execute an aggressive finance plan
- Generate prospects and produce donor research that identifies new targets and integrates them into the call time rotation
- Organize and staff fundraising events
- Help track and manage the team's progress in numerous areas of fundraising
* Qualifications*
- Ability to think aggressively and creatively about fundraising and politics in general
- You will be the first staff hire and required to work with a certain level of autonomy and independence
- Must have a strong work ethic, good people skills, and willingness to work in a team centric environment
- Basic understand of federal campaign finance rules and regulations
- Preferred experience with NGP, ActBlue, Excel, and other software commonly used on Democratic campaigns
- Willingness to be flexible, work hard, and work campaign hours.
