Field Organizer –Anthony Portantino For State Senate

Anthony Portantino for State Senate is seeking Field Organizers to implement its district wide field program in a competitive Los Angeles County Legislative race. Field Organizers will be responsible for recruiting, training and developing volunteers to lead efforts aimed at contacting, persuading and turning out voters.
Field Organizers will work on one of the most closely watched Legislative campaigns in the state and have an incredible opportunity to gain campaign experience and develop key skills with some of the top organizers in the state. Applicants should be committed to Democratic values and be willing to put in the work necessary to win.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to implement the Campaign Field Plan
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and volunteers
- Foster and develop neighborhood teams in assigned geographical regions
- Empower volunteers to develop into leadership roles within the program
- Conduct outreach to community groups to increase size and scope of program
- Lead voter contact and field efforts in assigned region
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to meet tight and competing deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of political campaign structure and familiarity with campaign technology
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- Good sense of humor and ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment
- Previous campaign experience is preferred, but not required
- Southern California experience is a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish is a major plus
