Writer and Copy Editor 

The Amy McGrath for Senate campaign is accepting applications for a writer/copy editor that will be based in Lexington, Kentucky. This position will play an integral role across departments. 

Job Responsibilities: 

● Proofread text and correct spelling, grammar and punctuation errors 

● Verify factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics 

● Check text for style, readability, and adherence to campaign policies 

● Rewrite text to improve clarity and readability 

● Work with the communication and digital teams to craft messaging 

● Write and edit op-eds and policy documents 

● Craft talking points and speeches when required 

● Request feedback and incorporate requested edits 

Qualifications/Skills: 

● Excellent understanding of AP Style 

● Creative and flexible 

● Attention to detail and deadline-oriented 

● Understands discretion and is open to flexible work hours 

● Can communicate and collaborate with team 

Education Requirements: 

● Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field 

● Two years of professional experience 

● Salary commensurate with experience 

● Health care is provided
