Storyline is a collaborative non-profit production company. We craft original stories to make sense of complicated issues, provoke discussion and develop action that addresses society's biggest challenges. We produce participatory documentaries and multi-platform art projects that are shared through broadcast, the web, and interactive exhibitions. Storyline’s mission is building power with story and strategy. The ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience, a passion for storytelling, and education, experience with organizing or activism, and a strong analysis of power and processes of social change. We look for collaborators who will pitch in wherever needed, creatively problem solve, execute tasks on deadlines, and help us grow.
The Role Includes:
Helping develop and implement engagement and distribution plans
Researching, develop and maintain partnerships with communities, funders, and clients
Outreach to potential exhibit partners
Assist logistical production and coordination of public events and exhibition
Coordinate communications activities including PR, newsletter, social media, and website
Fundraising and new business development including working collaboratively to create pitch documents and budget proposals
Please note: this is not a video/audio/photo production role, though skills in media production are welcome.
Skills
Strong ability to collaborate and problem solve
Community organizing or civic engagement experience
Familiarity with artistic documentary film and media production and distribution
Event Production
Communications/PR experience
Meticulous attention to accuracy, detail, and organization
Prior fundraising/financing/business development experience
Digital organizing, and education a plus
Details:
Position is a short term position, with the possibility of extension.
Work will take place in our office in Bushwick, Brooklyn. But strong virtual candidates encouraged to apply.
