Candidate for County Executive in Maryland is looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual to oversee the campaign’s voter contact plan, manage day-to-day operations and support the candidate with scheduling, research and fundraising efforts.

 

The position is ideal for someone looking to gain electoral leadership experience with one or more cycles of field experience on a Congressional campaign or management of a state and/or local campaign. You will work closely with an experienced consultant team.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, engage and manage volunteer network to meet voter contact goals
  • Manage volunteer phone bank and canvass programs
  • Collect, organize and enter all voter contact data on a daily basis
  • Analyze voter trends from previous elections using existing data bases and use data to help develop strategy for voter engagement
  • Help develop strategy for engaging voters using multiple social media platforms and other forms of electronic communication.
  • Weekly reports detailing voter contact results with measurable goals
  • Identify opportunities for candidate to speak and attend events, meet with thought and opinion leaders and participate with/leverage support of allied organizations and community groups
  • Work with campaign treasurer on timely filing of finance reports
  • Manage candidate calendar
  • Staff candidate as necessary

Qualifications and desired skills:

  • Candidates must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and have a strong commitment to accountability
  • Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong communications and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leaderships ability
  • Successful at motivating volunteers to meet voter contact goals
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Have working knowledge of VAN, NGP, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs
  • One to two cycles of campaign experience or community organizing experience
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle is necessary
