Oklahoma Democratic Party Deputy Outreach Director


The Oklahoma Democratic Party (ODP) is hiring a Deputy Outreach Director who will be responsible for helping maintain aspects of the ODP outreach program. The Deputy Outreach Director will report to the Political Outreach Director and will work directly with our officers, staff, legislative leadership and members, candidates, allied organizations, and more. The Deputy Outreach Director is responsible for working with the Political Outreach Director and the Executive Director to create and execute a plan that will enhance the party’s outreach efforts during this crucial 2016 election year. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • ·         Building and managing partnerships with stakeholders, including central committees, clubs, and faith, civil rights, labor, progressive, and other allied or affiliated organizations - specifically in the Oklahoma Muslim community;
  • ·         Designing and implementing a plan to ensure regular stakeholder communication;
  • ·         Identifying and/or organizing opportunities for stakeholder networking with ODP officials and Democratic elected officials;
  • ·         Partnering with the Executive Director and Political Outreach Director to ensure stakeholder engagement with the ODP;
  • ·         Representing the ODP at external events and meetings;
  • ·         Assisting with the organization and management of events, including State Central Committee meetings and county, district, regional, and statewide meetings;
  • ·         Serve as the ODP outreach liaison to designated caucuses.
  • ·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

·         Strong commitment to electing Democrats. 

·         At least 2 cycles of political outreach experience is preferred, though other outreach experience will be considered.

·         Exemplary time management, planning, and organizational skills. 

·         Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and staff.

·         Experience with VAN, NGP, and other campaign databases.

·         Must have a car, car insurance, and driver’s license (position will require travel around the state).

·         Experience in and knowledge of the political landscape and key people/organizations in Oklahoma.

·         Experience in and knowledge of the Oklahoma Muslim community strongly preferred.

This is a part-time salaried position located in Oklahoma City. Salary is commensurate with experience. Health insurance and other benefits may be provided. The Oklahoma Democratic Party is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
