Our progressive political media firm based in Chicago is looking for a media buyer to be part of our team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a media firm during the most critical part of the election cycle.

The best fit for our firm is an individual with familiarity of media buying and experience on political campaigns. Candidates should have superb organizational and analytical skills, excellent time management, and have a strong interest in working for progressive values.

We work in the unpredictable environment of political campaigns, so candidates must be a team player, anticipate next steps, show initiative, and think independently with the follow-through to get things done.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Competitive Media Tracker will include:
  • Tracking competitive spending in excess of a dozen races. Campaigns range from federal to statewide to caucus races.
  • Developing relationships with station reps to obtain up-to- the-minute information.
  • Documenting all spending in reports and share updated reports in timely fashion with clients.
  • Developing and tailor reporting formats for each client.
  • Offering basic analysis of spending information to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintaining the firm’s high standard of comprehensive client services that meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a campaign or in the political arena is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Political Science, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
