DESCRIPTION
We are in search of a talented campaign manager to oversee a statewide ballot initiative campaign to raise Arkansas’ minimum wage to $11/hour by 2021. This measure is currently in the signature collection phase with the expectation of qualifying for the ballot in July - August. The campaign manager is responsible for developing a path to victory for the minimum wage campaign and managing staff, consultants, and resources to achieve that goal.
The Campaign Manager will manage the budget and campaign strategy, coordinate cash flow and fundraising, and manage staff and/or consultants to design and execute the communications (earned and paid) and field strategy. The campaign manager will serve as point person for stakeholders, funders and others to get most up-to-date information about the campaign. They will also coordinate compliance activities, with the support of a compliance expert, and be responsible for recruiting and managing campaign consultants.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly organized, and has great communication skills. The campaign manager should have the ability to anticipate problems and proactively develop solutions, work well with coalition partners and keep calm under tight deadlines and stress.
We are open to candidates with moderate campaign experience as well as seasoned campaigners. The ideal candidate has experience in Arkansas, has 5+ years working in issue advocacy or political organizing, experience managing staff or consultants, and is passionate about Arkansas workers and economic opportunity.
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, temporary position from July to November. Pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. A stipend for health insurance will also be provided.
