Maine Democratic Party Executive Director  - immediate opening. 

The Maine Democratic Party seeks a dynamic Executive Director to help strengthen the state party’s fundraising, outreach, data, field, and communications programs and manage the daily operations of the Party.

Maine is a geographically diverse state, with a total population of just over 1.3 million people. Maine includes vibrant urban communities to very rural towns and island communities.  After controlling the Maine State House for several decades, Maine has under gone electoral wins and setbacks since 2010.  As a small state, the Maine Democratic Party has strong partnerships with our county committees, labor, the LGBTQ community, state legislators, women’s organizations and low income advocates. Our next executive director must have strong relationship, listening and team building skills to continue to build those partnerships.   The demonstrated ability to build a strong diverse team of volunteers and professionals is key to the success of this position. 

We are seeking an innovative leader who can work with diverse groups to accomplish the work of the organization – electing Democrats across the state, supporting municipal, county, legislative and congressional candidates.   Our ideal candidate is someone with a deep commitment to Democratic values, strong project management experience, and an understanding of how to use technology to advance the MDP's goals.  The candidate must be flexible, unflappable and committed to building the MDP in all areas of the state, urban and rural.
