The Nick Josefowitz for Supervisor campaign is seeking a talented and experienced Field Organizer to lead a robust canvass operation. Like many young parents, Nick is concerned about crime, homelessness and the cost of raising a family in San Francisco. He is running for Supervisor because for over a decade City Hall has not only failed to address these challenges but isn’t even doing the basics right. We can do better.

The Deputy Campaign Manager will report to the Campaign Manager, and will shape and implement the communications strategy and policy platform for an innovative and data-driven campaign.

Requirements

• Cares deeply about the future of San Francisco

• Great writer & compelling communicator

• Experience writing as a journalist or producing branded content for political campaigns or advocacy organizations

• Experience managing visual and video content production

• Experience managing social media pages, and placing digital ads

• Ability to perform data analysis and policy analysis

• The ability to work independently. The Policy & Communications Director must be a self-starter who can build and run this program with oversight but substantial independence.

• Deadline-driven, results-oriented, and willing to work long and irregular hours.

• Must live in or be in close commuting distance to San Francisco.

Responsibilities

Policy Communications

• Policy research, including managing volunteer and paid researchers.

• Drafting written policy content to be published online or in Op-Eds.

• Managing the production of visual and video policy content to be published online by paid and volunteer designers

Digital

• Social media management, multimedia content creation, and analysis.

• Digital ads management.

Endorsements

• Managing endorsement processes, including drafting policy responses.

• Outreach to endorsing organizations (eg Democratic clubs & labor unions).

Deputy Campaign Manager will coordinate with Campaign Manager and Candidate about all aspects of the campaign, including political strategy, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, event planning, etc.
