Duties include:
Building and maintaining media contact lists
Compiling and distributing Daily Clips and news round ups to senior level staff
Managing media monitoring for clips/news about national activities
Compiling and maintaining communications metrics
Assisting with the drafting of press releases, advisories, and statements
Providing general support for media outreach efforts
Qualifications
A burning passion for politics
Strong writing and communications skills
Exceptional attention to detail -- it really bugs you when a spreadsheet cell is missing data or a comma is misplaced
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in time-sensitive situations
An on-going interest in news and media and/or developing a career in political communications or press relations.
A "can do," proactive work ethic
Previous experience in communications as a fellow, intern, or paid staff is preferred but not required.
