Hi all!

Friends of Elizabeth Fiedler is coordinating the South Philly Voter Project! We are looking to hire 3-4 part-time organizers who will engage in a combination of direct voter outreach and community building between now and November. We are prioritizing bi- or multi-lingual candidates with strong connections within the 184th District.

We are excited to build a beautiful team of people committed to building a more representative, multiracial movement of working-class people fighting for a more equitable South Philly!

Lead Organizer - South Philly Voter Project

The South Philly Voter Project is seeking motivated organizers to join our team. 

  • Part-time 

  • Help register new voters 

  • Get people in our community get motivated to vote in the Nov. election 

  • Help people in our community apply for mail-in ballots

  • Engage in direct voter outreach through door-knocking, phonebanking, texting campaigns

  • Build relationships with community leaders and organizations and organize outreach events

  • Build meaningful relationships with volunteers and supporters using relational organizing tools

Required Qualifications: 

  • Self-motivated, self-starter, ability to work independently, ability to set and keep your own hours

  • Ability to take feedback and implement changes in real time 

  • Ability to multitask, create and achieve goals, meet deadlines and creatively solve problems

  • Desire to meet people where they are and go the extra mile to reach historically disenfranchised communities

  • Good listening and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends in order to ensure that outreach is conducted most effectively

  • Commitment to the values of equity, most critically working with a team of all backgrounds, races, and ages, with sensitivity and appreciation for cultural differences.

  • Ideological compatibility with the project’s analysis of racism, patriarchy and the capitalist economic system 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi- or Multi-lingual, specifically Khmer, Vietnamese, Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), Burmese, and Spanish

  • Strong community connections within the 184th District

Compensation 

$20/hour for up to 20 hours per week (flexible hours depending on availability). This position will run from July 15 until November 15, 2020.
