Field Organizer: Upstate NY House Race

An Upstate New York congressional campaign is seeking Field Organizers in a competitive and highly contested congressional seat. Field Organizers will serve on the frontlines of our grassroots field program to ensure a Democratic victory in this race.

Responsibilities

• Implementing all aspects of the field program in assigned turf

• Training, recruiting, and managing volunteers and local volunteer leaders

• Working with and mentoring in-district and remote interns

• Supporting relationship-building and coordinating with local partner organizations and community allies

• Submit nightly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment numbers as well as weekly reports

• Meeting daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals

• Ensuring data integrity in Votebuilder/VAN

• Working with county parties, local campaigns, and local unions to create joint efforts to maximize efficiency

Qualifications

• Kindness and empathy in a high-pressure campaign environment

• Exceptionally well organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines

• Excellent communication skills

• Previous community organizing or campaign experience preferred but not required (this includes an internship/unpaid role)

• Commitment to electing Democrats

• Ability and willingness to work in non-traditional work environments and hours

• Good sense of humor and ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment

• A valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle, cell phone, and laptop

Currently this position will begin working remotely, and then move to the district when that becomes realistic.
