Field Organizer--Jim Gray for Congress 

 
 

Overview: Democratic campaign in high profile congressional race seeks Field Organizers (FOs). Located in Lexington, Kentucky. This race will garner significant national attention. FOs will be responsible for building volunteer capacity, building grassroots volunteer teams/organizations, and spearheading robust voter turnout operation. FO’s will also play a pivotal role in managing relationships with local Party committees and other partner groups/organizations on the ground. Field Organizers will report directly to the Field Director. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 
 

• Recruit, train, and manage Volunteers and Fellows 

• Build volunteer capacity via nightly recruitment call times 

• Identify, train, and empower volunteer leaders to take on more active role and ownership of the grassroots organizing of their area 

• Plan and execute Direct Voter Contact events, such as phone banks and canvasses 

• Knock on doors and make phone calls 

• Report/enter data accurately and promptly on a nightly basis 

• Perform special projects as needed. 

 
 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

 
 

• Demonstrated interest and commitment to electing Democratic candidates 

• Strong organizational skills 

• Able to juggle competing priorities and meet strict deadlines 

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

• Possess a positive, flexible, team-oriented attitude 

• Ability to work long hours in a fast-paced environment 

• Must have access to a reliable vehicle, driver’s license, and be willing/able to relocate to the district 

• A working cell phone and laptop 

 
 
 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 
 

• Organizing experience (particularly campus organizing) 

• Proficiency with MS Office 365 

• Strong Digital Organizing Skills 

• Working familiarity with local political dynamics 

• Votebuilder/VAN proficiency
