POSITION AVAILABLE: Associate Web Designer – Position located in Washington, DC

REPORTS TO: Director of Digital

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Use your web design to change the world, joining a dedicated, fast-growing digital team working to give every American – regardless of race, income or education – an equal voice in our democracy. You’ll use your design chops to stop attacks on voting rights, stop big money special interests from influencing our elected officials and promote policies that create a more inclusive, reflective and representative democracy. Create and implement powerful designs for web and email campaigns that educate and motivate millions of Americans to take action on critical issues facing our democracy nationally and in the states. Improve on existing designs through creative thinking and best-practice testing to grow the size and power of our digital presence. Design social media graphics that tell the story of how We the People are winning back our democracy from big money special interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Using existing style guide, design website and email templates with modern UX and design best practices. Design and implement new templates through our CMS, Luminate Online. A/B test improvements to designs and execute winners on state and national webpages and email stationary. Develop original social media graphics. Design and produce highly converting landing pages and engaging infographics. Create new microsites using your platform of choice.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated advocacy or campaign experience (on campus, as an intern, volunteer or employee); proficient with design tool of choice; demostrated web front-end experience with HTML and CSS; experience implementing web design to a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, etc). Pluses: experience with front-end Javascript/jQuery, Luminate Online CMS experience, print design experience, A/B testing tools and website analytics experience.
