Job Summary:
The Community Organizer will be responsible for helping PPAV achieve its legislative and grassroots organizing goals. Key areas of focus will include working with the field team at the state office and in affiliates to implement the statewide advocacy field plan; including facilitating lobby days or days of action, coordinating regional phone banks and door-to-door canvassing efforts, doing community outreach, and recruiting and supervising volunteers and interns.

Qualifications:
BA or BS Degree. Computer literacy. Understands and abides by VLPP mission and core values, including diversity, self-determination, privacy, and access; practices these values in the work environment with internal and external audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to and motivate volunteers. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Proven experience excelling in fast paced and metrics driven work environments. Comfortable speaking to and interacting with the public, self-motivated and detail-oriented. Willingness to think creatively and solve problems proactively. Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle. Worked at least one electoral cycle as a full-time staff person. Knowledge of ACA and Virginia politics a plus.
