Kishan for DC 2020 Campaign Paid Internship 

We are seeking interns for the Kishan for DC 2020 campaign. Help us advance a truly people-powered campaign. Join a team committed to removing the power of big money over our government and fighting pay-to-play politics at the grassroots level. 

Kishan Putta is a twice-elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner running for DC Council, Ward 2. He previously worked for DC Health Link and helped cover thousands of DC residents through the Affordable Care Act.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting communication materials for social media, email blasts, flyers, etc.;

• Attending public community events with the candidate;

• Community canvassing with the candidate and/or volunteers;

• Making phone calls on behalf of the candidate to voters, donors, and pledged donors;

• Special projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hardworking, motivated, passionate future leaders interested in gaining experience and involvement in local politics.

• Those who have immediate availability and the capacity to intern for at least 20 hours per week.

Professional Development Opportunities: 

• Develop leadership skills through hands-on field experience;

• Receive access to organizational building techniques to grow grassroots teams;

• Supplement your academic background with practical experience in areas such as volunteer team building and voter contact operations.

Hours: 20+ hours/week

Compensation: $17-$20/hour
